Students help kids
Hats off to Columbian High School's marching band, cheerleaders and flag squad for a special performance prior to Friday night's football game to raise pediatric cancer awareness.
Band Boosters president Jodi Roszman - whose son Sam, a third-grader at Krout, was diagnosed December 2008 with a brain stem tumor - hoped to highlight Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month.
"We want to promote cancer awareness as much as possible this month," Roszman said. "People may not know that September is childhood cancer awareness month."
Also be aware that a bake sale is 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 28 at Tiffin Heritage IGA, 479 E. Market St., in support of Cookies for Kids with Cancer.
