KANSAS - It was a historical day on the links for Hopewell-Loudon's Bryce Gorrell at Nature Trails Saturday.
Gorrell not only set an invitational record, but set a school record shooting 6-under par on 18 holes for a score of 67.
With a combined team score of 316, The Chieftans won the Old Fort Invitational by a margin of 14 strokes. Aric Creeger carded an 80 for H-L and Jarid Gelinas fired an 83.
Buckeye Central would post a third place finish in the invite shooting a 331. Tanner Zaebst led the Bucks with a 75. Adam McGinniss chipped in an 83 adding to their total.
Fourth went to Lakota carding a 337. Makayla Dull shot a 76 and Hunter Chalfin fired an 84.
Seneca East came out of the invite with a 354 for a sixth place finish. Johnny Diehm finished the day with an 80. Braden Nagel added an 89.
Old Fort carded a 370 for an eighth place finish. Brad Heilman led the way carding an 82. Adam Alexander shot 90 for the Stockaders.
Right behind Old Fort, Mohawk shot a 371 giving them a ninth place finish. Brayden Dunlap shot an 84. Chet Margraf also contributed an 87 for the Warriors.
New Riegel finished out the day in 10th place carding a 386. Their top shooter was Lance smith, who shot an 89. Right behind Smith was Travis Williams chipping in 91.
Bettsville rounded out the bottom at 11th with a 427. Ryan Hager chipped in a 93 and Josh Tiell carded a 104.
