Wesley Arnold Hoffdahl, 84, of San Antonio, Texas, and formerly of Cheyenne, Wyo., passed away Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, surrounded by his family.
He was born Aug. 16, 1929, in West Concord, Minn., to Arnold L. and Hazel (Dutton) Hoffdahl. He married Delilah A. Fruth Dec. 11, 1955, in Fostoria.
He is survived by his wife, Delilah Hoffdahl; three sons, Roger (Camille) Hoffdahl of Manteca, Calif., Douglas (Susan) Hoffdahl of Mesa, Ariz., and Ryan (Kelly) Hoffdahl of Jupiter, Fla.; a daughter, Lois (Randall) Koutz of San Antonio, Texas; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Andrew (Bonita) Hoffdahl of Stillwater, Minn.; a sister, Marlene (Norbert) Kazeck of St. Paul, Minn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, LaRae Tretter and Iola Peterschick.
He was employed by the U.S. government as a surveyor and instrument repairman for 40 years and worked in many countries. He retired in 1986 after which he and Dee traveled extensively in their Tradition motor home. He was an avid outdoorsman spending as much time as he could hunting and fishing with family and friends. As a hobby, he repaired clocks.
A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Dec. 29, 2013, at Forest Hills Presbyterian Church, Helotes, Texas.
Interment will be Monday, Dec. 30, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
