Columbian rolled through singles action Tuesday against Sandusky, paving the way for a 4-1 victory over the Blue Streaks. With the win, TC evens its Northern Ohio League mark at 4-4 and now stands 7-8 overall.
Sarah Guzowski topped Heidi Shipley 6-2, 6-4, Kayla Magrum beat Shawna McConville 6-2, 6-3 and Tiffany Walker bested Morgan Spencer 6-1, 6-3.
The Tornadoes also got a doubles win from Ashley Neidermier and Sam Krintzline over Hannah Lang and Melanie Murray 6-2, 2-6, 6-1.
Sandusky's lone win came in No. 2 doubles, where Bobbi Steler and Alexa Riester beat Julianne Peacock and AnnMarie Petrosino 6-3, 6-1.
Clyde rebounds from first loss
CLYDE - Clyde brushed aside Monday's loss, rebounding to shut out Oak Harbor 5-0.
In singles play, the Fliers' Andrea Nearhood beat Emily Goff, 6-0, 6-0. Nearhood's teammate, Emi Bowers, topped Amanda Sosa, 6-1, 6-0.
Wrapping up singles play was Brianna Baghman, who defeated the Rockets' Rachel Chafe, 6-0, 6-0.
In doubles play, Clyde's Amanda Cahill and Lexi Weber knocked off Rachel Helle and Emily Boss, 6-0, 6-2. The Fliers' second doubles team of Brooke Smith and Clara Sewell beat Michelle Boss and Kelsey Bodnar, 6-0, 6-0.
Huron edges out Calvert
HURON - Calvert split its doubles matches with Huron but could only take one of the singles matches, falling to the Tigers 3-2.
Senecas Cassie Recker and Kerrigan Kwiat topped Aly Kopp and Kelsey Ohm 6-3, 6-1 while CeCi Burtis was victorious in her third singles match against Allee Faulkner 6-0, 3-6, 6-0.
At No. 1 singles, Madison Daniel fell to Delaney Black 6-4, 6-1 and Laura Haley lost to Elizabeth Mills 6-4, 6-4.
Huron's top doubles team of Lilly Justus and Irene Frager beat Margaret Bowers and Regina Hoepf 6-4, 6-1.
