Dorothy M. Bogart, 88, of Tiffin and formerly Republic, died Monday morning, Sept. 16, 2013, in the emergency room at Mercy Tiffin Hospital.
She was born Oct. 19, 1924, in Bucyrus, to George and Hulda (Lutz) Brause. She married Charles J. Bogart June 9, 1945, and he preceded her in death Dec. 29, 1976.
Survivors include two sons, Michael (Margaret) Bogart and Gary (Beate) Bogart, both of Republic; three daughters, Lynn (Wayne) Kipps of Tiffin, Karen (David) Clady of Willard and Charlene (Matt) Gaietto of Republic; a daughter-in-law, Debra Bogart of Republic; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Duane; two brothers, Carl and Dorsey Brause; and two sisters, Carolyn George and Mary Schock.
She was a 1942 graduate of Bloomville High School, a member of Bloom Grange, Just Neighbors Club and had been an advisor for the Scipio-Shamrocks 4-H Club, Republic. She also had worked in the food service department at the Tiffin State Hospital, retiring in 1976, and later as a cook at Ruffing Family Care Center, Bloomville.
Her funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, at Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR 19, Bloomville, with the Rev. Cathy Wirth officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bloomville.
Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
