By Bonnie Daniel - Correspondent , The Advertiser-Tribune

NEW RIEGEL - Mayor Larry Bouillon said he and Seneca County Commissioner Fred Zoeller have made many phone calls about ways to reduce the sewer rates for village residents during a New Riegel Village Council meeting Wednesday. Representatives of the Fostoria treatment plant, the site New Riegel's waste is transported to, said they may reassess the fees after one year. Larry Baxa with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development has agreed to work with county officials about the sewer fee situation.
