A film documentary about the murder of Findlay resident Vera Jo Reigle is to premiere today at the Northwest Ohio Independent Film Festival in Lima.
The film, "Goodnight, Sugar Babe: The Killing of Vera Jo Reigle" was made by J. David Miles, a Findlay resident and documentary filmmaker.
According to a press release, in the film, Miles bypassed law enforcement sources and went directly to the actual killers for interviews, revealing a conspiracy that continues to elude prosecutors.
Reigle, 24, was found dead in March 2011 on railroad tracks in Findlay. Her cause of death was multiple sharp and blunt trauma. One Tiffin resident and one Fostoria resident were convicted of charges in 2012 in connection to Reigle's murder. Daniel M. Bixler, 23, of Tiffin, was sentenced to life in prison with eligibility for parole after 40 years. Nicole Peters, 19, of Fostoria, was sentenced to 23 years in prison.
