BLOOMVILLE - Bloomville resident Larry Kelbley returned to the council meeting Wednesday night to see if the ball field lights can be used for the Texas shoot-out one pitch tournament he was planning. Street Superintendent Rick Dentinger told him the lights would probably be down for repairs at that time.
Kelbley asked about enlarging the "Party in the Park" activities and council said they approve but noted it takes a lot of work to coordinate such projects. They suggested Kelbley locate several other residents who would like to form a committee and help him organize the event.
Bliss Memorial Library head librarian Beth Fry said the Halloween party this year is set for noon-3 p.m. Oct. 27 at the fire house . She said it is a community project and she has contacted churches, Lions Club, the fire and police departments, Bloomville ball club and Shook Repair and Industries for assistance. The Bloomville garage has OK'd parking on its property and Hempy's has donated toward a bounce house.
Dentinger said it appears two seams in the liner in the shallow end of the pool are not tight. An attempt to contact the company that installed it earlier this summer is being made to request the liner be repaired before the village pays $19,000 for the original work. He also located a leak in a return line to the pool.
Councilwoman Nancy Zellers reported on the community calendar wall sign. She said costs for mulch and delivery would be $104 and she was seeking donations to help with expenses. She has priced retaining wall blocks and some stone will be needed.
