Alberta (Falter) Kowpak, 92, of Tiffin, died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center, Tiffin.
Alberta was born May 4, 1921, in St. Stephens, to Anthony and Mary Josephine (Blum) Falter. She married William L. Kowpak June 15, 1968, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin and he died Aug. 5, 1998.
She is survived by three nephews, Eldon (Marilyn) Falter and Cadell (Ginny) Falter both of Bellevue and Kenneth (Brenda) Falter of Attica; four nieces, Valeda (James) Miller of Attica, Laura (Robert) Peiffer of Bellevue, Kay (Brent) Allan of Fremont and Marilyn (Donald) Overton of Liberty Twp. Monroe; three stepchildren, Peter (Tracy) Kowpak of Sandusky, Zane (Scarlet) Kowpak of New London and Debra Longmire of Albany, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Alberta also was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Norman J. Falter and Delbert F. Falter; a nephew, Kilian Falter; a great-nephew, Gregg Miller; and a stepdaughter, Karen Lester.
Alberta was a graduate of Attica High School and Tiffin University. She was a Realtor with Century 21 of Tiffin and taught real estate at Tiffin University. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, TU Alumni Association and the Altar Rosary Society.
There will be no visitation. Her funeral Mass will be 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, with the Rev. Gary Walters and the Rev. John Miller, her nephew, co-officiating. Burial will follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Attica.
