GREEN SPRINGS - While the streets of Green Springs may be void of autumn leaves come Oct. 27, they'll certainly have at least a few hungry trick-or-treaters rustling around.
During Monday night's council meeting, village Police Chief Charles Horne announced the annual Halloween festivities would be taking place that day.
Judging ceremonies are to begin at 3 p.m., with the parade following at 4 p.m. and trick-or-treating capping 5:30-7 p.m., according to Horne.
Horne also announced Green Springs school is to having its first active shooter training Monday with the goal being to evacuate and secure the building as quick as possible.
On another note, city streets are to be swept once all the leaves have fallen, administrator John Miller said.
In other matters, council announced:
Daily usage of water was lowered to 78,000 gallons a day due to fixed leaks.
The 10-year asbestos sample has been completed and submitted to the EPA.
