George E. Colvin, 64, of Findlay, passed away at 12:31 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at Elmwood at the Springs Healthcare Center, Green Springs.
He was born May 27, 1949, to the late Ronald A. and Lois (Snyder) Colvin in Bucyrus.
George is survived by his brothers, Henry C. (Nancy) Berkheimer of Denison, Texas, Harry W. (Sharon) Colvin of Arcadia and Ronald J. (Sherry) Colvin of Urbana; a sister-in-law, Janet Colvin of Findlay; a brother-in-law, Daniel Vitt of Fostoria; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
George also was preceded in death by his sisters, Elizabeth W. Vitt and Ann Lambert; and a brother, Gale E. "Skip" Colvin.
George was a 1969 graduate of Arcadia High School, where he played football and wrestled. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Family was very important to George and he loved spending time with everyone. When he was able, he enjoyed coaching Little League baseball and bowling. He also enjoyed coin collecting.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay, where funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Laurie Beaty will officiate, and burial will follow in Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay, where full military rites will be conducted by the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad.
