Robert E. Bowers, 82, of Tiffin, died at 7:55 a.m. Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at his residence.
Robert was born Oct. 18, 1931, in Wyandot County, one of seven sons of George O. and Mabel C. (Goodman) Bowers. He married Anna M. Bogner Aug. 19, 1956, and she survives.
Also surviving are a son, Gregory E. (Bobbi) Bowers of Sycamore; a daughter, Vicki L. (James) Karcher of Apple Creek; and four grandchildren, Andrea and Ashley Bowers and Tony and Tyson (Tiffany) Karcher.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Harold M. and George J. Bowers.
Robert was a 1949 Columbian High School graduate and served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1954 during the Korean War. He was the former maintenance manager at Harvard Industries. Robert was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, American Legion Post No. 250, Sycamore, and Tiffin Elks. He loved to travel and was an avid OSU Buckeyes and Cleveland sports fan.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today, Oct. 23, 2013, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, OH 44883, (419) 447-3113.
His funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Paul Stark. Entombment will follow at Seneca Memory Gardens mausoleum, Tiffin, with military rites conducted by the United Veterans Council.
