Larry D. "Yogi" Sarka, 74, of Tiffin, died at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo.
He was born Sept. 21, 1939, in Wapakoneta, to Albert Emmett and Mary E. Graessle Sarka.
He is surived by two brothers, Kenneth D. (Marilyn) Sarka of Tiffin and William A. (Elaine) Klausing of Columbus Grove; a nephew, Todd (Andrea) Sarka; three nieces, Ta-ah (Marshall) Tyree, Tonya (James) Kuzmik and Angela (Brock) Hartman; 10 great-nieces and nephews; and five great-great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; including his stepfather, Arnold J. Klausing.
Larry graduated from Lima Senior High School in 1957 and served in the U.S. Marines. He had been employed for many years at Seneca Sheet Metal, Tiffin before starting his own business, Sarka Sheet Metal and Fabrication Inc., in 1985, in Tiffin.
He loved watching various sports on TV and was very involved with his family. He was dearly loved by them all.
His funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, with Pastor Robert King officiating. Burial will follow at Kossuth Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Spencerville Veterans.
Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
