Health district can answer breast cancer questions

November 1, 2013
The Advertiser-Tribune

In Seneca County, breast cancer survivors indicated a need for an increase in community resources and a need for more education and awareness about breast health and breast cancer. The Seneca County General Health District is to provide educational programs, brochures, assist with breast health questions and provide referrals as needed.

Women need to educate themselves about breast cancer and talk with their health care provider about how to reduce their risk.

Early detection offers the best chance for survival. A female should start doing breast self-exams or BSE in their early 20s.

Any changes found need to be reported to your health care provider right away.

For information, contact the heath district at (419) 447-3691.
