James "Jim" F. Maloy, 87, of Sycamore, passed away late Sunday evening, Dec. 1, 2013, at St. Francis Home, Tiffin.
He was born Feb. 8, 1926, in Tiffin, to Sidney and Marjorie (Martien) Maloy. He married Charlotte M. Dunn Oct. 4, 1977, in Anchorage, Alaska.
Survivors include his friend and wife of 50 years, Charlotte; two daughters, Linda (Edward) Wyckhouse of Windermere, Fla., and Leanne Dishong of Alabama; two stepdaughters, Cindi Kalinoski of Powell and Bonnie Landis of Burlington, Ky.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepson, Harold W. Factor Jr.; stepson-in-law, Tom Kalinoski; three brothers, Junior, Jack and Thomas Maloy; two sisters, Dorothy Seislove and Marjorie Ann Lewis; and his chocolate lab, Jake.
Jim worked for Hossler Construction, Tiffin, and local 341 in Anchorage, Alaska. He enjoyed watching deer, fishing, hunting, taking care of his yard and going to auctions over the years. He served his country in the U.S. Navy as a gunner's mate 3rd class during World War II, beginning in 1943, and was honorably discharged March 29, 1946.
Private graveside services will be at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Tiffin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, American Cancer Association, Humane Society of Seneca County or a charity of the donor's choice.
