Donald Lee Royer

Donald Lee Royer, 85, of Willard, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at Riverside Hospital, Columbus.

He was born Jan. 3, 1928, in Altona, Ind., to Warren E. and Adeline Bessie (Comadoll) Royer. Mr. Royer served in the U.S. Navy and worked as a maintenance electrician for American Standard, Tiffin, until retiring in 1991. He lived in the Tiffin community from 1980-1991. He also worked for the B&O Railroad, Garrett, Ind., Willard and Cumberland, Md., and Pioneer Rubber Co., Willard.

Mr. Royer is survived by his wife, Bertha (Peterson) Royer whom he married July 31, 1949, and two sons, Stephen L. Royer of Norwalk and Robin Royer of Sacramento, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Maurice Royer; and sister, Virginia Summers.

A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at First United Methodist Church, Willard with the Rev. Doug Beggs officiating.

Friends may call from noon until the time of the service at the church.

Memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church or The Salvation Army through the funeral home.
