Ronald E. Miller, 79, formerly of 300 Highland Parkway, Apt 12B, Upper Sandusky, died at 5:22 a.m. Sunday, Dec.8, 2013, at Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky.
He was born July 31, 1934, in Texas Township, Crawford County, to Herbert and Lorena (Frost) Miller. He also was raised by foster parents, Dorsey and Florence Snyder.
He is survived by a son, Jim "Jimmer" Miller of rural Tiffin; a grandson, Aaron Vasquez-Miller; a brother, Jim Beaston of Raliegh, N.C.; and a sister, Gertrude Scott of Bucyrus.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Lawrence and Marjorie Shelton; a nephew, Denny Williams; and his parents and foster parents.
Ron was a self-employed carpenter, also working with many local carpenters such as Bill Morton Builders of Bucyrus, Dave Klaiss Construction of Tiffin and Glenn Herman Construction of Tiffin. He also, in his earlier life, worked at the Lemert Elevator, the former Chief Dairy in Upper Sandusky, picking up and delivering milk. He was a 1953 graduate of Sycamore High School and also was a former Texas Township trustee.
For hobbies, Ron loved to fish, go to antique tractor shows and make all kinds of wood crafts, especially wooden whirligigs.
Ron's wishes were to be cremated, so there will be no visitation or memorial service at this time.
