FOSTORIA - The end of the year is a busy time for many, including Fostoria City Council.
The council met Tuesday night to discuss issues and appointments for the coming year. Mayor Eric Keckler suggested several appointments, all of which the council approved. George Scott was reappointed for a five-year term to the Board of Zoning Appeals. John Potteiger, Phyllis Richard, Shirley True and Richard Perrine were reappointed to three-year terms on the Tree and Beautification Commission. And Steve Geroski and Fred McCarty were reappointed for three-year terms to the Airport Committee.
Judge Mark Repp also was sworn in during the meeting. Repp is to preside over Tiffin and Fostoria municipal courts.
A key to the city also was given to Paul Feasel and Teresa Lee. Feasel announced his resignation as representative of the 2nd Ward earlier this year, a position he has held for 10 years. Lee also is to be leaving council after this year, retiring as the representative of the 3rd Ward. Lee has served on council for the past 19 years.

There was a second reading of an ordinance to extend hours of the Rail Park.
Financial Appropriations for expenditures were approved for 2013.
An ordinance was adopted to vacate a portion of an alley near Cherry Street.
Fostoria City Council is to meet Jan. 7 in Fostoria City Building.
