Margaret C. ‘Peg’ Warnement

Margaret C. "Peg" Warnement, 85, of Tiffin, passed away Sunday morning, Jan. 19, 2014, at her home.

She was born Feb. 17, 1930, in Tiffin, to Victor and Norine (Albus) Wurm. She married Thomas H. Warnement Sept. 9, 1950, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, and he preceded her in death April 22, 2000.

Survivors include her two sons, Kevin (Diane Orwig) Warnement of Tiffin and Brad (Shelly) Warnement of Republic; three daughters, Deborah Hoerig, Diana Warnement and Carol (Mike) Dell, all of Tiffin; brother, Michael Wurm of Lowell, Mass; four sisters, Kathleen Klopp of Sun City West, Ariz., Dorothy Carlson of Port Clinton, Nancy Warnement of Tiffin, and Janet Altwies of Albuquerque, N.M.; 11 grandchildren, Phillip (Jennifer Diaz) Hoerig, Ann (Mike) Boes, Nate (Becky) Hoerig, Landon Warnement, Nicholas Warnement, Ryan Dell, Patrick Dell, Bradlee Warnement, Devyn Warnement, Reed Warnement and Callum Warnement; and seven great-grandchildren, Lauren, Leah, Eden, Alex, Spencer, Owen and Von.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; son, Thomas H. Warnement II; and son-in-law, Larry Hoerig.

Peg was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, a 1948 graduate of Tiffin Calvert and bowled for the Ladies Knights of Columbus. She worked on the family farm her entire life, at Kuebler Shoes and with her daughter at Hoperoy's Hallmark Shoppe and with her son at Hasselbach Air Comfort. Peg traveled to Arizona to visit her siblings and took area trips with her children and with Allen Eiry Center. She was a Seneca County 4-H advisor for over 25 years, made the BEST baked beans ever and enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events and her euchre club. Peg continued supporting Calvert Catholic Schools and was very active with her high school classmates. For the last year and a half, Peg was able to stay at home with the help of family and her caregivers.

Her Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Tiffin, next to her husband. A rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass.

Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH 44883, (419) 447-2424. A Christian wake service will begin at 3:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Calvert Catholic Schools, F.A.C.T. or Stein Hospice.
