dsp The Advertiser-Tribune

H. Lynn Spoon, 60, of McCutchenville, passed away in his sleep peacefully after losing his battle with cancer Jan. 27, 2014.

He was born at Mercy Tiffin Hospital April 17, 1953, to Harry Jr. and Lois A. Spoon.

After graduating from Mohawk High School in 1971, he worked at Spoon's Hardware alongside his brother and father and volunteered with McCutchenville Fire Department. Later, Lynn held positions with Don's Siding as well as J.C. Building and Maintenance before retiring in 2000 to help care for his parents.

Lynn was a jack-of-all-trades who truly loved being around family and friends. He was known for living life to the fullest, enjoying the simple pleasures and putting others first. He was a proud member of the American Legion, VFW, AMVETS and Moose Lodge. He truly will be missed and joyfully remembered by all of those whose lives he touched.

He is survived by his children, Nathan Spoon of Murrieta, Calif., Evin Risner of Wilkesville and Jessica Spoon of Tiffin; his two grandchildren, Jazalynne and Braden; his fiancee, Becky Derr, and their loyal "son" Murphy of Carey; his mother; two sisters; and a brother.

The family will host a remembrance luncheon for friends and family noon-4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, at The American Legion in Carey.

Lehtomaa Funeral Home, 201 Osborn Ave., Findlay, www.lehtomaafh.com, was entrusted with the arrangements.
