FOSTORIA - Amid debate over sidewalk maintenance and council positions, Fostoria City Council took time to recognize those with developmental disabilities Tuesday.
Mayor Eric Keckler issued a proclamation naming March Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. The proclamation read, "[Fostoria] recognizes that our communities are stronger when everyone participates. Take time to get to know someone with a disability, Recognize Ability at Work, and see what he or she has to offer."
Also during the meeting Tuesday, council voted not to read an ordinance relating to sidewalk maintenance. This ordinance would make homeowners liable for sidewalk maintenance, including snow removal and repair, within 24 hours after snow stops to fall. Council discussed changing the wording of the ordinance and has tabled the issue.
