Tiffin Fire Rescue Division responded to a house fire at 264 2nd Ave. today. It was fully aflame when crews arrived, and the house was heavily damaged, a spokesman said. The Red Cross was contacted. No one was home at the time of the fire. It was the department's third house fire in two weeks.
The first firefighter in the door fire suffered first- and second-degree burns to a knee. The firefighter was taken to Mercy Tiffin Hospital to be checked and likely would be treated and released, Chief Bill Ennis said.
