The 12th Annual Baumann Auto Group Big Charity Raffle is to run through Oct. 4.
In the past 11 years, the raffle has raised almost $700,000 for local charities such as First Step of Seneca, Sandusky, Wyandot and Wood counties, Seneca County Agency Transportation and Financial Assistance for Cancer Treatment.
General Manager Dave Conn said the raffle has grown to include all area dealerships. At the start, about a dozen charities were involved.
This year, Baumann Auto Group dealerships in Fremont, Tiffin, Port Clinton, Norwalk and Genoa and 20 charities are selling $5 tickets for a chance to win a new 2014 vehicle as the grand prize.
The winner gets to choose from a new 2014 Chevy Malibu, 2014 Buick Verano, 2014 Ford Fusion, 2014 Hyundai Sonata or a 2014 Jeep Cherokee.
Marketing Coordinator Heather More said the goal for each year is about $70,000. Last year, $73,235 was raised to be split between the involved charities.
More said the raffle raised the most money in 2010 with $74,715.
The winning ticket is to be drawn Oct. 4 at Baumann Chevrolet Buick GMC.
All proceeds go to local charities.
