A man was arrested Thursday evening and charged with fleeing and eluding, obstruction and several other traffic violations after he led law enforcement on a pursuit following a hit-skip accident.
Andrew J. Kuenzli, 23, of Nevada, was arrested in a driveway in the 6000 block of CR 14 after he led Seneca County Sheriff's deputies on a pursuit that reached speeds of more than 80 miles per hour.
According to Tiffin Police reports, the pursuit began after a caller reported a pick-up truck struck a sign in the 2400 block of West Market Street and fled the scene.
Tiffin police contacted the sheriff's office to look out for the pick-up truck. After it was spotted on SR 53, a deputy tried to initiate a traffic stop.
The truck then led the deputy on a pursuit on county roads off of SR 53, including CR 52 and CR 591, before the car stopped in a driveway on CR 14.
According to sheriff's reports, when the truck had crossed
CR 591, it nearly caused an accident.
Kuenzli's vehicle was towed from the CR 14 driveway following his arrest, and he was
transported to Mercy Tiffin Hospital from the jail for blood to be drawn.
A search warrant had been signed by Seneca County Common Pleas Court Judge Steve Shuff for the blood draw.
According to Tiffin-Fostoria Municipal Court documents, Kuenzli was charged Thursday with fleeing and eluding a police officer, obstruction, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, OVI refusal, violating traffic lanes, hit-skip and failure to yield right-of-way.
His bond was set Friday at $100,000.
