Heidelberg University is to welcome its first entrepreneur as the spring keynote speaker in The Patricia Adams Lecture Series in April.
Cheryl Krueger of Bellevue is the founder and former president and CEO of Cheryl & Co., a cookie, gourmet dessert and gift basket retailer. In 2005, she sold the business, which had grown into a $50 million corporation.
Currently, Krueger has founded KRUEGER+CO. Consulting Inc. The firm focuses on developing creative marketing and sales strategies as well as evaluating product development pipelines, operations, logistics and financial performance.
"Cheryl's background and experiences bring new and exciting learning opportunities to our students," Connie Harris, vice president for Institutional Advancement and University Relations at Heidelberg, said. "She will be providing insight about discovering market niches, implementing a business plan and the role of mentors. She will also share her journey as an entrepreneur and how to balance a personal and professional life."
Krueger graduated from Bowling Green State University with a bachelor's degree in business and home economics. She serves on the board of Bob Evans Farms Inc. and was appointed in 2012 to The Ohio State University Board of Trustees.
Krueger also has received several awards, including being inducted into the Ohio Women's Hall of Fame, and was named the top female entrepreneur of the year by Working Women Magazine.
