Gallery features Fostoria artist's work
FOSTORIA - Wesley Memorial Gallery in Fostoria has opened an exhibit of the work of the late Don Droll.
The Fostoria artist and long-time teacher operated an art and frame studio and boutique with his wife in their home. He also taught art classes to children and adults. His early sketches were in pencil, but he was always trying new media, including watercolor, pen and ink, oil, acrylic, charcoal, pastels, clay and copper enamel.
The exhibit is to remain on view through May 30.

Historical society to stage benefit for park
SYCAMORE - Mohawk Historical Society is to present a big-screen showing Saturday of "It's An Amazing World" at Sycamore American Legion Hall, 125 S. Sycamore Ave., Sycamore.
Showtimes are 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., and admission is free.
Suitable for all ages, the program features more than 400 unusual images compiled by Kim Mohr and features an array of curiosities, phenomena, wonders of the world, oddities, freaks of nature, pet humor and more.
In tandem, the American Legion is to offer an all-you-can-eat dinner of fish, fries, cole slaw and rolls for $10. Serving is to start at 5 p.m. Proceeds are to be used for a project at Sycamore American Legion Park.
Fundraiser to help FACT
The Tiffin Moose, 1146 N. SR 53, is to be the venue for the Commitment, Care for Cancer Benefit 6-11 p.m. Saturday. Proceeds are to benefit Financial Assistance for Cancer Treatment.

Egg scramble scheduled
FOSTORIA - Children ages 3-10 are invited to Fostoria's annual Easter Egg Scramble April 12 at Fostoria Intermediate Elementary School.
Doors to the auxiliary gym are to open at 10:30 a.m., with the scramble to start at 11. The youngest age group, 3-4, is to go first, followed by 5-7 and 8-10. Children age 2 and younger can receive a goodie bag instead of hunting for eggs.
The egg hunt is free and no registration is needed. Children should bring their own bags or baskets for the collection. Easter crafts also are to be offered and the Pumpkin Vine Railroad is to give free train rides for children. The Easter Bunny is expected to attend.
Bands needed for festival showdown
FREMONT - The Sandusky County Art and Music Society has planned its third annual Art and Music Festival May 9-11. Applications are being accepted for the Battle of the Bands May 11.
