Nancy L. (Recker) Hill, 65, residing in Sandusky, passed away early Monday morning, May 5, 2014, at Stein Hospice Care Center after a lengthy illness.
Nancy was born Nov. 13, 1948, in Tiffin, to Richard A. and Wilma C. (Adams) Recker-Gillmor.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Arthur Hill; two daughters, Amanda (Jim) Florance of Cincinnati and Kassandra Huett of Mountain Home, Arkansas; two sons, Steven (Lynda) Hill of North Madison and Thomas (Ellen) Hill of Sandusky; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a sister, LuAnn (Terry) Hayfield of Fostoria; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her father, Nancy was preceded in death by her sister, Cheryl Ward.
Nancy was an Old Fort High School graduate and then attended Riverside White Cross School of Nursing at Ohio Northern University, where she received a bachelor's degree. She previously worked as a registered nurse at several local hospitals and nursing homes, and eventually became head nurse at the former Providence Hospital. For the past 15 years, she has been employed at H&R Block, preparing taxes. Nancy was a past member of the Old Fort United Methodist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed square dancing, genealogy, traveling, camping, crocheting and spending time with family.
At the family's request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2014, at Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, with Pastor David Clarke presiding. Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
