SANDUSKY - Ren Boehler figured in four wins to guide Calvert's boys to second Thursday at the Northwest Ohio Catholic Schools Association Championships.
Boehler doubled up in the 110 hurdles (16.31) and 300 hurdles (41.91), and ran legs on the winning 4x100 (44.0) and 4x200 (1:33.34) teams.
The effort helped the Senecas upend Norwalk St. Paul 88 1/2-82 for the runner-up spot. Host Sandusky St. Mary took the title with 112 points.
Nick Felter, Tyler Long and Shane Boehler rounded out Calvert's 4x100 team, and Michael Smith, Long and Shane Boehler filled out the 4x200 team.
Long also captured the 100 (11.69) for Calvert, with Smith running second in the 800 (2:13).
St. Wendelin ended sixth with 47 points. Nick DeHaven captured the 3,200 (11:14) and ran second in the 1,600 (5:08).
Calvert's girls finished third in their meet with 79 points and St. Wendelin took sixth (53).
St. Mary beat St. Paul 140-90 for the team crown.
Olivia Smith paced Calvert by taking the 800 (2:22) and anchoring the 4x800 (10:45) and 4x400 (4:17) teams to victory.
Morgan Smith, Corinne Harris and Danielle Kontak joined her on the 4x800, and Morgan Smith, Kerrigan Kwiat and Kontak filled out the 4x400.
Seconds came from Kwiat in the 400 (1:04.06), high jumper Emma Sullivan (4-8), and the 4x200 team of Kontak, Mallory Paul, Kwiat and Olivia Smith (1:52.41).
St. Wendelin picked up wins from Sophia Volpe in the 1,600 (5:48) and Alexa Hallman in the 100 hurdles (17.6).
Karin Goddard ran second in the 3,200 (14:15) for the Mohawks.
Multi-winners propel Tigers
ATTICA - Paityn Caudill claimed three girls events and Seneca East's boys had a quartet of individuals win twice Thursday as the Tigers swept Old Fort in a track dual.
Caudill took the high jump (4-10), 100 hurdles (19.6) and 300 hurdles (1:05.8) to lead the Tigers past Old Fort's girls 106-10.
Seneca East's boys won 99-38.
Olivia Willman added wins in the 100 (14.6) and 200 (31.6) for Seneca East's girls, and other individual victories came from Kaylyn Goshe in the discus (117-3), Kirsten Camp in the long jump (15-0), Cynthia Duston in the pole vault (6-6), Anna Willman in the 1,600 (6:41.9) and Brittany Brookes in the 400 (1:09.1).
The Tigers also claimed the 4x800 (11:55), 4x200 (1:55.4), 4x100 (54.5) and 4x400 (4:37.3).
Old Fort's Kayla Garza captured the 800 (2:40.6).
In the boys meet, Seneca East's Owen Best won the shot (43-2) and discus (143-0 1/2), Ben Frankart ran to victory in the 110 hurdles (17.3) and 300 hurdles (44.1), Brayden Walker claimed the 100 (11.8) and 200 (24.9), and Wesley Pipher took the 1,600 (5:08.1) and 3,200 (11:31).
Other wins came from long jumper Zach Gregg (19-5), pole vaulter Kyler Green (12-0) and Rob Schaffer in the 800 (2:21).
The Tigers also took the 4x800 (9:09), 4x100 (47.2) and 4x400 (3:57).
Old Fort's Hunter Perry leaped to victory in the high jump (6-2) and Brad Bannister ran to a win in the 400 (56.9). The Stockaders also won the 4x200 (1:36).
