For their senior project at Calvert High School, Zach Dutro and Aaron Englehart set up about 3,000 crosses on the school lawn to represent the number of babies aborted each day in the United States. Dutro said some of the crosses had been made for a previous project, but about 500 had to be replaced with paint sticks donated by Tiffin Ace Hardware. He estimated it took four to five hours to set them in place and paint the school rock. May 3, the school had a dress-down day. Morgan Smith and Christian Huss designed pro-life T-shirts for students to purchase and wear to support the cause. The profits from the T-shirt sales are to be donated to Heartbeat, a non-profit agency that assists expectant mothers. Also, the Revs. Kishore Kottana and Joseph Sybka are to celebrate a pro-life/family Mass at 5:15 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Church. A rosary is to be recited after Mass, and a meeting is to take place in the Upper Room for those interested in getting involved in pro-life issues and activities.
