Seneca County Board of DD to meet

The Seneca County Board of Developmental Disabilities is to meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Opportunity Center, 780 E. CR 20.

NCA board to meet

The North Central Academy Board is to meet at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at the North Central Ohio Educational Service Center, 928 W. Market St., Suite A.

TCS program committee to meet

The Tiffin City Schools Board of Education's Program Committee to meet at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Administration Building, 244 S. Monroe St.

TCS third-graders to tour Tiffin

The Tiffin City Schools' third-graders are to take their annual Tour of Tiffin Thursday.

Students are to visit the Tiffin Seneca Museum, Elmwood at the Shawhan, Seneca County Courthouse Annex, Tiffin City Hall, Tiffin Police Station, Tiffin Fire Station, The Fort Ball Gazebo, William Harvey Gibson, The Ritz Theatre, Tiffin Police and Fire All Patriots Memorial and St. Paul's Church.

K-Kids help provide services

Noble 4-5 Elementary School has hosted a K-Kids charter from the Kiwanis Club of Tiffin. The K-Kids club has 20 active members and works to plan and participate in community service projects. The Noble K-Kids Club has led a canned food drive and donated more than 30 boxes of goods to the pantry at the Salvation Army of Tiffin in the fall. The club also raised more than $2,500 for the Red Cross relief effort in the Philippines after the typhoon that wreaked havoc over the country.

Members of the club also help the K-5 Parent Teacher Organization in trimming and bundling box tops as part of the Box Tops for Education fundraiser.

Student awarded gifted honor

Andrew Combs, fourth-grade student at Old Fort Elementary School, has been awarded a scholarship by the Northwest Ohio Consortium of Coordinators for Gifted.

Combs is the son of Connye and Matt Combs of Tiffin.

Migrant food program to begin

Teaching and Mentoring Communities of Fremont and Helena Seasonal and Migrant Head Start centers announce sponsorship of the USDA-funded Child and Adult Care Food Program. Meals are available to enrolled participants and are to be served at no charge.
