'Proof' run continues
The Ritz Players are to give two more performances of "Proof," at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday, in The National Theatre.
Content and language in the drama are intended for mature audiences only.

Benefit slated in Carey
CAREY - River of Peace Ministries is organizing a Pantry Palooza to benefit the Carey Food Pantry.
Beginning at noon Sunday, the festivities include live music, a silent auction and food at the gazebo in John Carey Park. The rain location is the American Legion.
Non-perishable food donations are accepted as admission.
Acoustic, bluegrass and rock bands are to play noon-4:30 p.m., including Madcap Mike and the For Real Deal; Sixth Story Balcony; Wayne and Sarah; The Flewsees; Bay Creek Road; Center Punch; Jessica Kenney; and Consensus. At 5 p.m., hip-hop takes stage with Kings of Real; C. Priest; Wikid Mix; NGB Entertainment; C. Priest; Bee Vanish; and Newkleus.
Musical requires cast
Open auditons for "Les Miserables" are 6:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday in Brenneman Music Hall, 296 E. Perry St., on the Heidelberg University campus.
There are roles for five men, four women (two of whom need to be in their late teens), two girls ages 5-7 and one boy age 8-10. A large chorus also is needed.
Auditioners should be prepared to sing a song from the show. Portions of the libretto are available for perusal only at Tiffin-Seneca Public Library.

Open house celebrates 4-part harmony singing
Lake Plains Chorus will be having an open house 7:30-9:30 p.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church, 96 S. Monroe St. Men who enjoy singing are invited for an evening learning about singing in four-part harmony.
Director Fred Schmidt will teach a song. Kerry Conrad will explain the fundamentals of learning to sing a short, musical tag in four-part harmony. Dave Healy will lead the group in several barbershop songs.
There is no charge and refreshments will be served. Men are welcome to bring a friend or spouse.

Teens sought for 'Shrek'
FREMONT - Teens ages 13-19 are invited to audition for "Shrek the Musical" at 6:30 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Fremont Community Theatre, 1551 Dickinson St., Fremont.
The musical is based on the 2001 Dreamworks movie, "Shrek," and William Steig's book of the same title.
Those auditioning should prepare 16 bars of a song to sing, with piano music or digital accompaniment tracks. Readings will be done from the script after singing auditions have concluded.

Teen zombies wanted
BELLEVUE - Auditions for Teen Theatre's "Zombie Prom" are set for 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Bellevue Society for the Arts, 205 Maple St., Bellevue.
This 1950s musical revolves around pretty senior Toffee and the class' nuclear-charged bad boy.
Auditioners should furnish eight bars of a musical number, sung a cappella or accompanied by a CD.
Parade coming soon
The Bascom Lions Club Memorial Parade is set for 2 p.m. June 1 to conclude the day of festivities.
A chicken and pork chop barbecue is to be served 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Evergreen Shelter at Meadowbrook Park. A 50/50 drawing also is planned. Memorial services are to take place at 1:15 p.m. in Sandridge Cemetery, followed by the parade.
