Timothy R. ‘Tim’ Schock

Timothy R. "Tim" Schock, 64, of Tiffin, passed away Saturday morning, May 17, 2014, at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born June 4, 1949, in Tiffin, to Daniel and Winifred (Cascaden) Schock. He married Ramona LaFountaine April 27, 1974, and they later divorced.

Survivors include a son, Terry Schock of Fair Oaks, California; a daughter, Allison Shatner of Olympia, Washington; five brothers, Jerry, Tom, Joe, John and Richard Schock; two sisters, Pat and Nancy; two grandchildren, Amanda and David; many nieces and nephews; and close friend, Norm Kelley.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Mike, Daniel and Jim Schock.

Tim was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, graduated from Chula Vista High School in California and attended Heidelberg College. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1969, serving in Europe and Asia as a photographic interpreter. He was honorably discharged in 1973. After serving in the Navy, he worked for many companies as a microwave communications technician. He was a member of the N.R.A. and enjoyed photography, astrology, bee keeping, carpentry and collecting coins and stamps. He also was a rock hound, enjoyed driving around in his Subaru Brat and loved animals.

His memorial Mass will begin at noon Thursday, May 22, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. A rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Tiffin, with military honors being conducted by the United Veterans Council.

Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to Mass at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH 44883, (419) 447-2424.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Heartland Hospice or the Planetary Society, 85 S. Grand Ave., Pasadena, CA 91105.
