A fire ignited in an East CR 16 barn Thursday afternoon, damaging classic cars and car parts that were inside.
Tim Riedel, assistant chief of the EMS division of Sycamore Volunteer Fire and Rescue, said the fire at 2377 E. CR 16 was electrical and ignited in the shop area of the building. The fire was noticed just after 12:30 p.m. by a passerby, Riedel said.
"It's hard to tell the exact cause," he said.

Firefighters push a classic car out of a barn that caught fire Thursday afternoon on East CR 16.
The fire damaged a third of the building as well as five classic cars, automotive parts and tools, Riedel said.
He said one car was totaled but the others may be salvageable. The building also is repairable, he said.
Riedel said firefighters were at the scene for between two and a half and three hours.
"We got it knocked out quick," Riedel said of the fire. "Overhaul took the longest. There was a lot of stuff smoldering inside."
No injuries were reported, Riedel said.
Sycamore Volunteer Fire and Rescue was assisted Thursday by Clinton Township Volunteer Fire Department, Bloomville Township Volunteer Fire Department and Tiffin Fire Rescue Division.
