Harold "Wayne" Moorhead Jr., 72, of Tiffin and formerly of Sycamore, died at 8:36 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo.
He was born Jan. 29, 1942, in Tiffin, to Harold and Charlotte (Dozer) Moorhead. He married Shirley (Gregory) June 14, 1964, and they later divorced. He then shared his life with a special friend, until 1994, Katherine (Marsillett) Cahil.
He is survived by his children, Lori Ann (Tom) Fox of Sycamore, Tammy Lynn Moorhead of Tiffin and Brittany Alyssa Moorhead and Shellie Layne Moorhead, both of Hilton, New York; three grandchildren, Alyssa Marie Knox and Kyle and Collin Fox; and two great-grandchildren, Alexander Knox and Jazalynn Mills.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, June Bickham.
Harold was in building and property maintenance in Tiffin for 25 years and owned the former T.P. Party Store in Sycamore. He was a 1960 graduate of Mohawk High School.
He was a member of Tiffin Eagles No. 402, took care of the rose garden at Kiwanis Manor, drove its bus, and at one time was a reporter for the Kiwanis Club. He was an avid NASCAR racing fan and loved Formula 1 and Sprint Car racing and going to tractor pulls. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his cat, Bell.
His funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, with the Rev. Robin LaBolt officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday.
