TU to host basketball camp

The Tiffin University Women's Basketball team is to host a Dragon Kids' basketball camp 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday and 9 a.m.-noon Thursday in the Gillmor Student Center.

Cost is $50 per camper or $75 for two family members. Each camper is to receive a T-shirt.

The camp is designed to help develop individual skills and introduce fundamentals of the game, such as handling the ball, passing, shooting, rebounding and defense.

Grandillo honored by alma mater

ADA - Ohio Northern University's Alumni Association presented Distinguished Alumni Awards during a banquet that was part of the 2014 Alumni Weekend May 30-June 1.

One of the recipients was Michael Grandillo, former Tiffin City Council president, associate dean of admissions and director of development at Heidelberg College and vice president for development and public affairs at Tiffin University. He earned a bachelor's degree in political science from ONU in 1979. He serves as a consultant for the Registry of College and University Presidents and has been appointed by U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown to the commission to screen U.S. marshal, U.S. attorney and U.S. judicial candidates for appointment by the president.

Grandillo also worked in the ONU office of admissions and was president at Lakeland College in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.

ATHENS - Ohio University has announced the list of local graduates from the class of 2014.

Exchange program opportunity

In August, 18-23 year olds from Egypt, France Germany, Lebanon, Tunisia and the United States are to travel to Tunisia for an international exchange program.

Applications are accepted through today and four Americans are to be selected.
