Theodore "Ted" Babcock, 70, of Sycamore, died Tuesday morning, June 17, 2014, at his home.
He was born Sept. 7, 1943, in Wyandot County, to Clifford and Kathryn (England) Babcock. He married Winnie (Naugle) Babcock and they later divorced.
He is survived by two children, Tammy (Clarke) Andrews of Lakeland, Florida ,and Ted C. (special friend, Cindy Markley) Babcock of rural Sycamore; two grandchildren, Brittney Costine and T.J. Babcock; one sister, Mary (Raymond) Naugle of Sycamore; and two brothers, Myron (Beuton) Babcock of Sycamore and James (Barbara) Babcock of rural Sycamore.
Ted was a retired truck driver and was a veteran of the Vietman Era. He was a former member of the Sycamore American Legion Post and the former VFW Post of Sycamore. For hobbies, he loved cutting wood, riding his motorcycle, going to auctions and playing pool.
A funeral for Ted will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2014, at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, 201 W. Saffel Ave., Sycamore, with the Rev. Matt Garrabrant officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore, where the Sycamore American Legion Post will conduct a military graveside service.
Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
