Thomas E. Clouse

Thomas E. Clouse, 64, of New Riegel, passed away at 5:16 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2014, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Thomas was born Nov. 14, 1949, in Tiffin, to the late Alvin and Bessie (Fox) Clouse. He married Linda (Rathburn) Oct. 5, 1973, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Tiffin, and she survives in New Riegel.

Thomas is also survived by his children, Wendell "Bud" Franklin II, Susan (Lee) Wilkinson and Christopher (Kristine) Clouse, all of New Riegel; 10 grandchildren, Michael, Kathryn, Cory, Jacob, Bailey, Maya, Addison, Ethen Thomas, Carter, and Lance; three brothers, Floyd (Becky) Clouse of Tiffin, Dave (Laurie) Clouse of New Riegel and Steve (Valerie) Clouse of New Riegel; three sisters, Marge White of Port Clinton, Martha (Jim) Davis of Temperance, Michigan, and Ruth (Steve) Brown of Weston; and a brother-in-law, Dennis Emerine of New Riegel.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Janet Emerine.

Thomas was a lifelong contractor and farmer. He was a member of All Saints Parish, New Riegel, and American Legion Post 888. Thomas was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during Vietnam. Thomas enjoyed hunting, fishing and just spending time on his farm with all of his family and many friends.

His Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014, at All Saints Parish, New Riegel, with the Rev. Ron Schock officiating. A rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery, New Riegel, with military honors being rendered by the New Riegel American Legion.

Visitation for family and friends will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory, 135 N. Washington St., Tiffin, with a wake service beginning at 2 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the All Saints Parish, New Riegel, or to Stein Hospice.
