John Allen Baker, 62, of Findlay, passed away Monday morning, June 23, 2014, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.
He was born Nov. 27, 1951, in Fostoria, to Doyle A. Baker and Carolyn Jane (Frankart) Baker.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary; son, Matt Baker; daughter, Jody (Sean) Chlebowski; stepdaughter, Desiree Rizor; seven grandchildren, Justin and Tara Chlebowski, Katelyn (Baker) Glenn, Paige and Jeremiah Miller, and Haley and Harley Cole; mother, Carolyn Baker; six brothers, Bob (Linda) Baker, Mike (Maria) Baker, Mark (Jackie) Baker, Brian (Cindra) Baker, Chuck (Leann) Baker and Tom (Vicki) Baker; and two sisters, Jeanne Risner and Louanne Grine.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a stepson, Jacob Rizor; and two brothers-in-law, Bo Risner and Tim Grine.
John was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, and a 1969 St. Wendelin High School graduate. He was a 3rd-degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1197, Fostoria. John was an avid reader who enjoyed frequenting the libraries in Fostoria and Findlay. He was an avid Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavaliers fan, as well. A great conversationalist, he enjoyed spending time with his brothers and his family.
His Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, where a rosary will be prayed beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will take place at St. Wendelin Catholic Cemetery, Fostoria. A funeral luncheon and gathering will follow at the parish hall of the church.
Memorial contributions are requested to St. Wendelin Church and School or to either the Kaubisch Memorial Public Library, Fostoria, or The Findlay-Hancock County Public Library, Findlay.
