Elizabeth "Beulah" M. (Thallman) Zavodnik, 89, of Sandusky, passed away early Sunday evening, July 27, 2014, at The Willows at Bellevue, following a lengthy illness.
Beulah was born Aug. 21, 1924, to A.J. and Bertha (Shoemaker) Thallman. She was a 1943 graduate of Hopewell-Loudon High School and retired in 1980 from the Ford Motor Co., Sandusky.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Eagles No. 2222, AMVETS and American Legion Post No. 83. In her spare time, she enjoyed making lap blankets and donating them to the Ohio Veterans Home, crocheting, quilting, dancing, cooking, playing piano, fishing, visiting casinos, traveling and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Beulah is survived by her husband, Andy Zavodnik; two daughters, Brenda Hickman and Constance Aldrich, both of Tiffin; two sons, Steven Durst of Tiffin and Larry Durst of California; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; one sister, Marjorie Johnson of Bascom; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Beulah was preceded in death by her sister, Florence Heaton; and four brothers, Willard, Delbert, Earlan and Herval Thallman.
Friends may call from noon until the time of her funeral at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2014, at Trinity United Methodist, 214 E. Jefferson St., Sandusky, with Pastor Doug Winner presiding.
Burial will take place at a later date at St. Jacob's Cemetery, Tiffin.
