KENTON - Upper Sandusky's play tended to improve in the second set, but Kenton proved to tough to overcome Friday as the Rams fell 4-1.
Paige Burger and Shelby Passett gained the lone win for the Rams, defeating their No. 2 doubles counterparts 6-1, 6-2.
Kenton's Calynn Morris and Kirsten Osborn took the No. 1 doubles match by a 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) margin over Rene Vent and Hope Voorhees.
The Wildcats swept the singles matches, with Claire Oates blanking Nadia English 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1, Breanna Alexander beating Kayla Gault 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2, and Brittany Shepherd turning back Sara Gier, 6-3, 7-5.
Blue Jackets win in three
ARCADIA - New Riegel went above and beyond the call of duty Thursday against Arcadia. Sandwiched between two comfortable wins was a second game that went well into extra points. It all added up to a 25-15, 31-29, 25-17 Blue Jacket win.
Taylor Arbogast and Kara Scherger each posted double-doubles. Arbogast had 12 kills and 10 digs while Scherger tallied 10 kills and 14 digs.
Also for New Riegel (2-1) Lindsay Bouillon tossed up 20 assists while Leah Bouillon picked up 14 digs.
