Scott Myers

Scott Myers, 49, of Clyde, lost his two-year battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014, at his home.

He was born Jan. 20, 1965, in Sandusky, to Norman G. and Marian (Cleveland) Myers. He graduated from Clyde High School in 1985. In 2012, he retired from Whirlpool Corp. He had been the owner of Myers & Son Lawn Care.

Scott was a member of The Clyde Eagles and Moose. He was a former member of the Clyde Kiwanis Club. His 15-year membership with the Clyde Fire Department, having held the position of Lieutenant, held a special place in his heart. He also held several offices in the Clyde Fireman's Association.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy (Rohrbacher) Myers; a son, Seth Myers of Clyde; a daughter, Kaylee Myers of Fremont; a stepdaughter, Kari Mestrez of Sandusky; a stepson, Cory Rohrbacher of Fremont; five stepgrandchildren, Gideon, Jarrett, Cati, Hayden and Noah; two brothers, Denny (Sheryl) Myers and Doug Myers, both of Clyde; two sisters, Vickie (Fred Coleman) Shaffer of Green Springs and Patti (Jeff) Cooner of Clyde; and eight nieces and nephews, Bobbi (Gerald) Hill, Brandi (Joe) Britt, Brian (Dionne) Myers, Kim (DeWayne) Nagle, Derek (Nicole) Myers, Paul Shaffer, Kevin (Michelle) Cooner and Ashley Cooner.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David Myers.

Visitation will be noon-4 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014, at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde. A Clyde firefighters service will begin at 8 p.m.

His funeral will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Clyde, with the Rev. Ray Kovach officiating. Burial will follow at Green Springs Cemetery. The funeral procession will be escorted by the Clyde Fire Department.

Memorials may be made to the Clyde Fireman's Association Children's Fire Safety Program or Stein Hospice.
