BEAVERCREEK, Ohio (AP) — A large crowd supporting police rallied outside an Ohio Wal-Mart where a young man with an air rifle was fatally shot by police.

The Dayton Daily News ( ) reports the rally Sunday in support of Beavercreek's police department followed a rally Saturday at the same store in the southwestern Ohio city. The Saturday rally called on authorities to release surveillance video of the Aug. 5 shooting of John Crawford III.

Police responded to the store after a 911 caller said a man was waving a gun. Police say Crawford didn't respond to orders to put down the air rifle he was holding.

An attorney representing Crawford's family has said surveillance video shows the shooting was unjustified.

A special grand jury will meet Sept. 22 to consider charges in the case.
