Senecas win Cavalier Spikeoff once again

COLDWATER – For the second year in a row, Calvert came away champions of the 17th Annual Totally Promotional Cavalier Spikeoff Saturday, defeating New Knoxville, Fort Loramie and Ottawa-Glandorf.Calvert didn't drop a set at the tournament, beating New Knoxville first 25-7, 25-6. Gracie Miller tallied six aces, five kills, three blocks and five digs, while Bella Borgio collected seven kills, two aces and six digs, Hope Waire hammered five kills, Bryn Dircksen (21 assists) and Carly Bagent each smacked four kills.Calvert then took down Fort Loramie 25-13, 25-21 as Borgio dominated with 14 kills and five blocks. It also got seven kills, three aces and eight digs from Miller, five kills and two blocks from Megan Rombach, five kills by Waire, four kills and 20 assists from Dircksen, 10 digs by Kate Coleman and a pair of aces from Ava Eilrich.In the title match, Calvert dispatched O-G 25-14, 25-22. Miller tallied 12 kills, three aces and five digs, Borgio added 10 kills, three blocks, four aces and six digs, Dircksen dished 21 assists and Coleman made six digs.
