Rural Tiffin man seeks to 'spread cheer, not fear'

A Clinton Township man is seeking to "spread cheer, not fear" through a red, white and blue light display. Greg Slosser, who lives on Tecumseh Trail, spent time Tuesday decorating trees and bushes around the front of his home with red, white and blue lights in an effort to spread unity and cheer while the country deals with coronavirus. He said he was thinking about giving people a break from the trying times. Slosser decorates his home for Christmas and has different colors of lights, including purple, pink, orange and green in addition to the red, white and blue ones. "I used to get up on the roof and do the peaks," he said. Slosser usually leaves up the lights on a big tree until February — the month of his wife's birthday and Valentine's Day. He had taken them down right after February and said he thought it was all wrapped up for the year. But, the idea of decorating in red, white and blue came to him Monday night. He spent a couple of hours crafting the display Tuesday. Slosser said he wanted to spread some cheer instead of fear, and it's time to unite. People live in the greatest country in the world and have to unite and get through all the things related to coronavirus, he said.
