Tiffin City government office closed

With the Ohio governor's issue of banning gatherings of more than 100 people, the City of Tiffin has announced the closing of government offices, effective March 16-31. In a statement Thursday, Tiffin Mayor Aaron Montz said, " In order to ensure the well-being of our city employees, all Municipal Government Offices will be closed to the public beginning March 16 through March 31, at which time the closure will be re-evaluated." City employees will continue to report to work and will be able to assist residents by phone, Montz said in the statement. "These moves are being taken in an overabundance of caution in order to help contain the spread of COVID-19 in the community," Montz said, according to the statement. "At this time, there are zero reported cases of COVID-19 in Tiffin, however, the likelihood is high that the virus will make its way here in the coming days and weeks."
