Stephen L. Schaaf

Stephen L. Schaaf, 76, of Attica, passed away Friday morning, Feb. 7, 2020, at Kobacker House, Columbus. Steve was born March 19, 1943, in Bucyrus, to William E. and Mary (Wilford) Schaaf. He married Barbara Behm March 28, 1964, in Bloomville, and she resides in Attica. His surviving family includes two children, Theresa M. Schaaf and Eric R. (Karen) Schaaf both of Dublin; two grandchildren, Samantha E. and Adam W. Schaaf both of Dublin; and two brothers, James (Judy) Schaaf of Attica and Thomas (Sue) Schaaf of Bluffton. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Schaaf. Steve had worked for many years at GTE, Verizon, and Frontier as a telephone installer, a cable splicer, and a switchman. He retired in 2013. He was a 1961 graduate of Attica High School and a member of Masonic Lodge No. 367, Attica. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020, at Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR. 19, Bloomville. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2020, at St. John's Lutheran Church, New Washington, with Pastor Edward Hunker officiating. Burial will be at a later date at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, New Washington.
