Virginia M. Peer

Virginia M. Peer, 81, of Tiffin, passed away at 12:28 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2020, at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center, Tiffin. She was born Aug. 4, 1938, in Tiffin, to Robert F. and Hilda M. (Lucius) Jordan. She married James F. Peer Feb. 10, 1962, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tiffin and he preceded her in death Oct. 9, 2014. Survivors include her children, James R. (Teresa) Peer of Republic, Pamela M. Jackson of Republic, Thomas G. (Peggy) Peer of Tiffin, Debra J. (Byron) Sohovich of Westerville, Jacqueline S. (Nelson) Stover of Carey, Judy A. (David Ziegler) Dorr of Bloomville, Steven M. (Christine) Peer of Tiffin and Jeffrey A. Peer of Tiffin; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert F. Jordan of Tiffin; and two sisters, Doris (Carl) Feasel of Kansas and Jane (Roger) Reinhart of Tiffin. She was preceded in death by her parents. She was a 1956 graduate of Tiffin Calvert High School. Virginia worked as a school librarian at St. Mary's elementary school and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing bingo, watching all Calvert sporting events and most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren. Virginia will be remembered for always caring for everyone else first and herself last! Visitation for family and friends will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, 2020, at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory, Tiffin. A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 2020, at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Mathew Mammen officiating. A rosary will be prayed 15 minutes prior to the mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvert Catholic Schools, Autumnwood Care Center or the charity of the donor's choice.
