Vernon Paul Schubert

Vernon Paul Schubert, 91, of Tiffin, passed away Friday, Dec. 6, 2019, at Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo. Vernon was born Oct. 5, 1928, in Republic, to the late Paul and Ella M. (Dolch) Schubert. He married Donna (Creeger) in Gatlinburg, Tennessee March 17, 1997, and she preceded him in death March 11, 2017. Survivors include his two daughters, Linda (David) Depinet of Tiffin and Sandra (Doug) Sexton of Lancaster, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Eric Depinet, Ryan (Kailey) Depinet, Matthew and Alexandra Sexton; a brother, Harold (Laura) Schubert of Tiffin; and a sister, Kathryn Gettys of Attica. Vernon was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and a brother, Alvin Schubert. Vernon was a truck driver working for Standard Oil, Tiffin and retired in 1975. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Tiffin, Ohio Sheriff Association and AAA Auto Club. Vernon was a U. S. Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War Conflict. The funeral for Vernon will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019, at Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home, 3085 S. St. Rt. 19, Bloomville, with the Rev. Dr. Jacob Yager officiating. Visitation for family and friends will also be Wednesday from 12 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services Wednesday, at Greenlawn Cemetery with military rites being rendered by United Veterans Council.
