Bellevue man sentenced to 2 ½ years in prison

A Bellevue man was sentenced to two and a half years in prison after pleading guilty to two charges Friday morning. Sean S. Rogers, 32, pleaded guilty to charges of robbery, a third-degree felony, and breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony, during a hearing in Seneca County Common Pleas Court Judge Michael Kelbley’s courtroom. Rogers had been charged after being seen leaving an empty house on East CR 36 in May. Detective Sgt. Kevin Reinbolt of Seneca County Sheriff’s Office had said the owners of the home live in an adjacent house. The owner went down the road, confronted Rogers and feared for his life when the truck was trying to get away and was coming right at him, Reinbolt said. The man shot out the rear driver's side tire, according to a sheriff's office report. Kelbley sentenced Rogers to two and a half years in prison, with credit for 137 days served, Friday. Rogers agreed to forfeit a 1994 Ford Ranger pickup truck. He also admitted he violated his community control in a separate case. In 2015, he had pleaded guilty to charges of receiving stolen property and breaking and entering, fifth-degree felonies, according to court records. Rogers declined to speak before sentencing Friday.
