Peebles to be replaced by Gordmans

Tiffin's Peebles store is to be replaced with a different store this summer. Stage Store spokesperson Jenny Clifton stated in a release that Stage Stores is converting the Peebles location in Tiffin to a Gordmans store sometime this summer. Peebles and Gordmans are parts of Stage Stores, she stated "Stage Stores is opening 38 Gordmans stores across the country this March, and opening an additional 36 stores this summer. Tiffin is one of the summer location openings," Clifton said. While the number of employees vary from store to store, Clifton said all current Peebles Associates will be offered jobs at Gordmans. She said the converting stores typically close in the days leading up to the Gordmans grand opening, but a timeline will not be available until plans progress further. Stage Stores' Gordmans retail chain is growing in response to consumers enjoying its off-price offering, which includes bigger deals and smaller prices on a wide array of apparel and home décor items, Clifton said. She said that Gordmans has been in business for more than 100 years and it has new merchandise deliveries weekly. In the release, Clifton states that at Gordmans, "there will always be something new to discover when it comes to popular name brand apparel, home décor, footwear, gifts, accessories, fragrances and more for the whole family."
